About three years after Motorola’s initial Razr revival, the company seems to have finally accomplished the feat of creating a successful modern flip phone. The Razr Plus boasts a substantial screen that adds a surprising level of utility, proving that flip phones have more to offer beyond just portability. With it’s gorgeous design, jaw-dropping pOLED display, mind-blowingly fast and fluid refresh 165Hz rate, excellent dual camera setup, fast Snapdragon 8 Plus gen 1 processing power and plentiful 256GB storage, the Razr Plus is my new favorite flip phone.

As with all phones, the Razr Plus does however have some slight room for improvement. Longer Android version support, more apps optimized for the phone’s partially folded state and improved gaming performance would be welcome enhancements.

MORE FEATURES

Videos & Photos

The 3.6″ outside display provides a large canvas for previewing selfies taken with the rear cameras. There is also no need for a mini tripod as you can use the clever design to prop the phone to take photos or videos.

Games & Payments

Play games and watch videos on the external screen, and enjoy access to your favorite apps. Plus, make quick, convenient payments and enjoy touchless NFC content/contact sharing.

Full built-in keyboard

Respond to messages with a full built-in keyboard and view important notifications – without ever needing to flip open your phone. This makes it easy to keep up to date or reply without unfolding.

Panels

The Razr Plus features an additional display known as “panels,” according to Motorola, where you can scroll through various screens alongside the main clock face. These panels include app shortcuts, contacts, upcoming calendar appointments, weather forecasts, Google News, Google Fit, Spotify player, and games.

Apps

Playing games on such a small screen might seem surprising, but it is enjoyable to play titles like Solitaire. Smartphones can be cumbersome to use with one hand, but having a device that fits in the palm of your hand makes scrolling through news apps a delightful experience.
